It's been a wonderful day at the green today, for many reasons. We have embarked on (and begun) a three year "repair and replenish" programme on the green, following a Bowls England assisted review of the green by a qualified agronomist, who has now provided us with a full regime, schedule and treatment plan.
You'll not see overnight effects - moreover a continuous improvement programme to maximise the (already) fabulous green. It had it's first verticut, close cut and fertiliser treatment under the new regime, and is bowling superbly.
You'll also see that we've had the composite surrounds delivered, which will be fitted in the autumn and winter, and you'll also see changes to the ditches. More of that to follow.
Finally, "Crow Corner" (there are references to this in previous minutes and club history) has started a makeover, courtesy of Linda and John Stevens who have removed dead areas, and fully replanted the retaining wall by the sheep. When you're next at the club, go and take a look !
